Hollyhocks mural in 3 sections commissioned for the outdoor patio of an assisted living facility called Spring Mill Presbyterian Village, a community of PresbyHomes & Services in Lafayette Hill PA. It was designed to be hung in sections, to be mounted on a brick wall .

This was a special project; the anonymous donor of the funds is a former Board Member at Presby Homes. The donor wanted to provide a cheerful and beautiful scene for the view from the dining room windows. In the warm months, the patio is used for gardening and there are tables and chairs and sun umbrellas

It was painted in the studio, and the panels recieved special priming and topcoating to withstand outdoor conditions.

The panels were fitted with french cleats; this method was chosen because it avoids having to drill holes for hardware though the front of the panel. It is a more challenging method to install, because accuracy in placing the cleats on the studs is critical.

The carpenters Michael Guess and Hans Rauch were meticulous and did a great job. As you can see the day started out sunny, and unexpectedly changed to snowshowers.
